Summary:
- This is probably the most complex and powerful software feature of all we have
- Real-time Ultrasound + IMU sensor fusion – read in deep detail about the feature for IA
- Fast and low-latency IPS / RTLS with Ultrasound + IMU sensor fusion for autonomous indoor drones and robots – for NIA
- It is a major feature that enables low-latency (5-25 ms depending on the type of movement and settings), high-update rate (80-500 Hz), and higher tolerance to occlusions for indoor positioning 3D/2D/1D tracking
- The Paired Beacons configuration for mobile beacons is now only recommended for IMU sensor fusion because it provides the mobile beacon’s location and direction even in static. Previously, it was a must. Connect the mobile beacons with a basic 2-wire cable for fast data transfer (only in IA. Not required in NIA). The Paired Beacon configuration for this feature is not different from the Paired Beacons configuration described in the Operating Manual
- However, it is possible to have direction with a single mobile beacon as well. It is virtually the only viable option for small drones like DJI Mini and smaller
Supported by:
- IA, NIA and MF NIA
- Super-Beacons-4 and Industrial Super-Beacons-4 and Industrial-RX with Omni-4 – and all future beacons with -4 or newer number in the title
- For IA, Stationary beacons can be any, including retired Beacons HW v4.9
- For NIA, only Super-Beacons-1/2/3/4, Industrial-RX, Industrial Super-Beacons, Mini-RXs, or newer are supported
- Purely ultrasound-based update rate must be 6 Hz or higher for the IMU sensor fusion to work properly. If the update rate is lower, the system may create loops or other tracking artifacts, depending on movement type, settings, etc. The update rate requirement may change in the future with the ever-evolving development of this very powerful feature
Pricing:
- Per mobile beacon
- The license is linked to the mobile beacon or a master beacon in the Paired Beacon configuration. Only one license per pair or per mobile object is required
