One more time about the step-by-step approach and its importance to the success with the Marvelmind indoor positioning system
Different types of handovers in large indoor positioning systems consisting of multiple submaps have different pros and cons. How to choose between the types?
Can a drone fly autonomously with only one mobile beacon? When and why do we need two mobile beacons per drone?
We explain what factors affect the proper selection of the height of stationary beacons (anchors) and answer other typical questions about heights
Our customer shared videos of current status of their autonomous indoor drone project and let us share with other users to make everyone’s progress easier.

We explain how we remotely helped our robotics customer to set up a precise indoor positioning system for show robots.
A potential customer of ours in sports tracking said that they tried BLE, and it is not suitable for their needs. Then, they discussed it with UWB manufacturers, and UWB wasn’t suitable as well. That surprised me … Why not UWB?…
A typical request: what is the recommended configuration, and how many beacons are required for an indoor positioning system for a drone competition?
Just another way to answer the same question about the range of the system we have been asked over and over again 🙂
This is a typical request and a typical floor plan. It can be used as an example for similar cases and as a reference for budgeting.
Calculation of the number of beacons required is equally a technical and economical exercise. It is a simple exercise if you understand the underlying logic.
The range of indoor positioning systems can be from ~30 meters to hundreds of meters and more depending on what exactly is meant and depending on the architecture used. Read more details.
Don’t give up if something broke in the system. In many cases, it is completely or partiality fixable with little efforts.
It is possible to fly autonomous indoor drones using IA but it requires deeper understanding of the technology
