0:00 Another very basic question that people ask, and of course we want you to know how to solve it, is to change their address. Because each of the beacons—all of them have a unique radio address. For example, in my case it's beacon 100. But sometimes it's very inconvenient if you have beacon 2, beacon 100, beacon 200, so they are in this devices list spread over. It's very, very easy to change the address. You can do this using USB, or you can do this if you wake up the beacons through the radio and change it wirelessly. How to: okay, so this is their device address. And for example, I want to make them 2, 3, 4, 5. So I simply say 2. You see there is a "Changes" button. I press the button, and now my beacon becomes
0:59 2, and 2. That's done. Then I simply disconnect the beacon. I connect another beacon. If I do this over USB, and in this way I can change one by one all my beacons. I can do the same over their radio if the beacons are already connected. But in order to connect, I need to know the address. So this is why the address is important. It's changeable. It's not like CPU ID, which is not changeable. It's fixed in hardware, but the address can be changed. And we really recommend that you gather them together, like 2, 3, 4, 5, and then 10, 11, 12, etc. It's simply easy. Thank you very much.
Key Takeaways

FAQ
Beacon Hardware: Technical Specifications
Device address configuration is a foundational step in deploying any Marvelmind ultrasonic indoor positioning system. This tutorial covers the practical procedures for checking current beacon addresses and changing them as needed—a critical task for system integrators working with autonomous indoor robots, warehouse automation equipment, and indoor drone navigation systems. Proper beacon addressing ensures each device maintains unique identification within your RTLS network, preventing communication conflicts and positioning errors. The methodology demonstrated applies universally across Marvelmind's beacon lineup and extends to other devices including stationary anchors and mobile receivers used in forklift tracking, autonomous warehouse systems, and multi-robot indoor navigation environments. Understanding address management is essential for anyone planning or implementing an indoor positioning system infrastructure, whether you're deploying a small proof-of-concept or a large-scale warehouse automation solution. Clear address assignment supports scalable system growth and simplifies troubleshooting in complex indoor GPS and indoor location tracking implementations.
