0:01 [Music] Hello. Today we will show how to unpack and set up a system for the first time. We will use Starter Set Super-MP as an example, so let's start unpacking. Starter Set consists of Modem and five Super-Beacons. [Music] Okay, everything unpacked. So now we can take a closer look at it. So this is the Modem. It has a micro-USB connector, reset button. Also, you can see there a few pins.

0:59 And pins for external devices. Modem goes with micro-USB cable, which you can use to connect all devices from the set. So let's move to Super-Beacon. It goes with 3M stickers. You can use it to stick beacons to the wall. Cells, it's really hard. Okay, let's have a look. Here we have USB connector, antenna, also pins for external devices and microphones and five sensors and microphone. Okay, now we need to download the latest CSV pack from Marvelmind.com. So go to downloads and

1:58 then load it. Unzip. Swepback. And now we need to install a Dashboard. It goes with STM32 driver. Choose a suitable version for your computer. [Music] Now we can move to software updating. Let's start from Super-Beacon. You can set DIP switch, so we need to switch it on. Let's restart. Lincoln. And we can connect it to computer. [Music] Go to

2:58 firmware upload. Firmware. And choose a file. Use NIA for the first time. Updating will take three to four minutes. [Music] Now press default button. Do it for each device after updating. Now you also can change an address of the beacon or just write it down, because we'll use it to wake Big Nap. Enter the address and press Enter. OK. After that, press right. Changes in default. All beacons are stationary, but you can make a mobile beacon. Just enable hedgehog mode.

3:57 [Music] After that, the beacon icon will turn to blue. If you disable the hedgehog mode, so icon will turn to green and it will be a stationary beacon. Now we can move to Modem. So connect Modem to your computer. Let's. We'll start blanken. So everything is fine. Let's go to setting up of the Modem. We do the same. We need to update the firmware. Use the same as web pack. It's so important all devices should be flashed from the same package. In another way, system will not work correctly. And of course we're using NIA.

4:57 System again. Firmware takes around one to two minutes. And press the fold in the end. All devices upgraded. So now we can place our beacons. To place our beacons we can use sticks like this. Also, you can use 3M stickers and use special holders like this. It was good for you. And now when Modem connected to computer, we can build our first 2D map in NIA. For this, first of all, awake

5:53 two stationary beacons. Map will build by itself. Okay, now we need to put a height for both stationary beacons. In my situation it's 1.8. It could be different for you, so do it for both beacons. For now everything looks good, but beacon still measuring a distance between them. Check a distance table. If all cells are white, you can freeze the submap. After that, awake a mobile beacon. Okay, it's up here. I'm up. So now we also need to put a height for

6:53 it. Do the same. Enter higher. And after that, press. So now it's good. Also checking a distance table and everything good. Freeze them up. Setting up of the system successfully completed. Now we can see tracking. Thank you for watching. [Music]

? FAQ

Q: What is included in the Marvelmind Starter Set Super-MP?
The Starter Set Super-MP includes ultrasonic beacons, a modem for receiving positioning data, cables, mounting hardware, and software tools for configuration and system updates.
Q: Why do I need to update firmware on beacons and the modem?
Firmware updates enable full system functionality, fix bugs, improve positioning accuracy, and ensure compatibility between all hardware components. Updates are essential before deploying the indoor positioning system.
Q: How should I initially position beacons for testing?
Beacons should be placed at elevated points around your test area with clear line-of-sight between units. Typical configurations use 3-4 beacons mounted on walls or structures at varying heights for optimal ultrasonic signal coverage.
Q: How do I activate beacons after unboxing?
Beacons are awakened through the Marvelmind software interface after firmware updates are complete. The software provides visual confirmation when beacons are actively transmitting ultrasonic signals.
Q: Can these setup steps apply to other Marvelmind systems?
Yes. The unboxing and configuration methodology in this guide applies to all Marvelmind positioning sets, though specific hardware components may vary by product model.
