The Starter Set Super-NIA-3D is based on Super-Beacons.
All essential SW as well as Marvelmind Dashboard API are already included in the price. Just download the Marvelmind SW pack: https://marvelmind.com/download/ => https://marvelmind.com/pics/marvelmind_SW.zip.
Super-Beacons are a newer version of Beacons HW v4.9 and superior to them in nearly all aspects:
Super-Beacons are better than Mini-RX and Mini-TX as well:
Super-Beacons support both IA and NIA. Notice, that the set is purely NIA, i.e. all ultrasonic transducers are on the same frequency 31kHz. But you can purchase additional Super-Beacons on other ultrasonic frequencies (19kHz, 25kHz, 37kHz, 45kHz) and re-use earlier purchased 31kHz Super-Beacons and to build IA systems.
Content:
All beacons (stationary and mobile) are equipped with with 6D IMU (3D accelerometer + 3D gyroscope) and standard 50mm antennas. Effectively, you are getting 5 absolutely similar Super-Beacons
The HW of the system supports two bands:
We always recommend to check your country’s local regulations.
Marvelmind Indoor Navigation System is off-the-shelf indoor navigation system designed to provide precise (±2cm) location data to autonomous robots, vehicles (AGV), and copters. It can also be used to track other objects with a mobile beacon installed on them, for example, forklifts in warehouses or virtual reality (VR) helmets or helmets for construction workers or miners, etc.
The navigation system is based on stationary ultrasonic beacons united by radio interface in a license-free band (915/868 MHz ). The location of a mobile beacon is calculated based on the propagation delay of an ultrasonic signal (Time-Of-Flight or TOF) to a set of stationary ultrasonic beacons using trilateration. No manual calibration is required. No need to know exact locations of the beacons – the system builds the map of beacons automatically.
The set contains a mobile beacon with IMU that gives a possibility for ultrasonic + IMU (3D accelerometer + 3D gyro) fusion. That allows much faster update rate – up to 100Hz and above.
Key requirements proper system functionality:
Distance between beacons
Coverage area
Location precision
Location update rate
Power supply

Здравствуйте! Можно ли купить этот набор в Москве ?
Да, можно
Напишите, пожалуйста, как это сделать. Если можно, мне на почту.

I would use the kit set as an indoor AR solution and need to grab the 3D coordinate of each mobile beacon, can it be done by acquiring data from the modem? If so, any wireless way for doing so like Bluetooth, WiFi or similar. In addition, is there any SDK to help fastening my developing task?
Many thanks.
Yes, it is possible to use the system for VR/AR and quite a few people are using it.
Yes, you can get the data from the modem. But even better – directly from the mobile beacon. We have tested two options:
1) Via virtual UART over USB directly to Android devices, for example, Samsung Galaxy phones
2) Via UART to serial-interface-over-Bluetooth board => any Bluetooth-enabled device (tablet, phones)

But, we suggest IA systems for your applications – not NIA.

If the mobile beacon needs line-of-sight to 3+ stationary beacons for x,y,z navigation, how does it work in a warehouse with multiple rows of floor-to-ceiling shelf units?
Each aisle is a separate submap. Thus, the total number of beacons depends more on the complexity of the area rather than on the sheer floor size. So, you are absolutely right. For a warehouse with shelves, you would need significantly more beacons than for the same open floor.
No precise indoor navigation system can work without line of sight in a warehouse full of metal and other non-transparent objects. It is a matter of physics. Some materials are radio transparent for UWB, for example, it may work in a office environment with carton-like walls. But when you move to a warehouse, it doesn’t work. You need line of sight to have precise tracking for all systems: light-based, UWB, or our Indoor “GPS” (radio+ultrasonic based).
So how exactly do you need to position them? If I want to them into a building about 110m by 18m with a fair amount of noise interference, how many beacons would you say I need? Does it work to have the stationary beacon higher up and the mobile one right along the ground? Was thinking of having a tracking system in our chicken barn.
Please, check the Placement Manual to start with: https://marvelmind.com/pics/Marvelmind_Robotics_ENG_placement_manual.pdf.
Yes, usually, we recommend to place stationary beacons on the ceiling or high on the wall facing down and mobile beacons as high as possible on your robot or a person facing up. In this way, you will minimize chances of obstruction. Direct line of sight/hearing from the mobile beacon to 2 or more stationary beacons within 30 meters is a must.

I’d like to know, if I can get the position information online.
For example, this device is working at store and I get the real time positon XY in my home.
Yes, it is possible with several ways:
1) When the Dashboard is running on your computer and the Dashboard is getting the location data from the modem, it can send the location data to your Dashboard at home anywhere in the world via UDP and you will be able to see the tracking. You won’t yet have a full control over the system, i.e. you can’t modify or set up the system, but you have all incoming data, including the telemetry from beacons, for example
2) In the near future, you will have similar functionality embedded in the Super-Modem, i.e. you wouldn’t need a computer with the Dashboard running next to the modem. The Super-Modem will do this by itself and you will be able to stream out via UDP. The next step – full remote control of the system via TCP-IP. It will be supported in the Super-Beacons
Hi, I have mounted an RFID System and your system (Super-NIA-3D) in the same Room and I would like to know, if I can receive the imformations of my RFID system in your system or the opposite send the information of your system to my RFID server?.
can I ask for a full description of your system (LOCALIZATION TECHNIQUES AND TECHNOLOGIES FOR LOCALIZATION).
I am a student and I chose your technology from Presente.
Hello,
Yes, it is possible to send a few hundreds of bits per second from the mobile beacon (from your RFID) to the modem/central system and back as a payload.
Full description of the system:

Hi,
We order Starter Set Super-NIA-3D and well received the product ,but when we start for testing the Modem is not connecting with power and the led light is not blinking also using USB to PC connect to modem also not detecting but all the 4 Antenna tags are working fine also detecting when connected with PC via USB,It seems the Modem has power supply problem ,Looking forward for your early reply.
Thank You..
Please, check usual suspects:
– USB cables. They are really different. Even when you have the same USB working with other Marvelmind devices, they may not work with some. Pure mechanical/electrical peculiarities of particular beacons
– Some USB cables don’t have data at all – purely for charging. Check that
– Always connect only one Marvelmind device at a time. Two or more simultaneously connected via USB Marvelmind devices may confuse the Dashboard
– If you really changed several different USB cables and they don’t work, then do DFU re-programming. Maybe, somehow, you lost the SW in your modem
– We ship 100%-tested units. Failures are always possible, but highly unlikely, especially, for the modem, because it is small mature product. It is not easy to kill either, because it is mechanically rigid
We also test with another notebook connected the USP cable and connected the modem,Also installed the driver ,But we couldnt see the com port in Device manager also there is no led light blinking in the modem,We remove the modem and then connect the beacon and we can see the light blinking and in device manager the comport is added,Only for the modem its not connecting,Looking for early responses.
Thank You
Sounds rather unusual. But DFU programming is the next step. Please, check the Operating Manual.
For DFU programming, you are not using the Dashboard, but rather the program from ST Microelectronics.
Thank you for the response as we observe the problem seems from the modem as its not detecting via USB in computer also not charging ,Might be it is defected ,How can we fix it as ,Kindly response ASAP,We need to start our demo app and then need to extend it to use in our factories and to our customer factories.
Have you tried the DFU programmer? Please, share the photos/videos and the results via email.
This place is not the right for debugging – either FAQ forum and emailing is the right place. Let’s move there. This place is more about general questions about the product. Not for a debugging of basic connectivity or similar.
Thank you.
What are they for
Please, elaborate on the question.
The set as well as other types of the beacons are for indoor positioning and navigation for autonomous robots, drones, forklifts.
