Tracking Hockey Players and Puck

Post by saleem145 »

I am interested in tracking hockey players and puck. I know marvel mind has a helmet with MiniRX.

But I am interested in embedding this in a hockey helmet. We have some manufacturing capability. Also I am interested in embedding inside hockey puck. Two external microphones on either face of puck with IP67 membrane protection.

Can this be done? Would it work.

It could be done in theory, but this is not a recommended solution, because:
- Noise of the puck sliding on the ice
- Pretty extreme conditions: water, ice, serious hits
- The puck in the low position and can be obstructed by players a lot of time, i.e. tracking performance may suffer
- High speed traveling - with update rate of 8Hz or so the puck will have just 1-2 updates - so fast puck

Yes, it could be done, but with clear understanding of the expected performance.
