Hello,
As we discussed via email, the software V6.166 for this type of beacons is really have an issue with location data output through USB/UART.
As I understood, after updating software to latest version (V6.190) this issue was resolved.

Hello,
You should freeze map to start tracking. The button in right bottom corner of the map.
Note that freezing should be done when the mobile beacon is active, because map data is uploading to mobile beacon at that moment
